11.07.2010 - Position 2 at 100 miles-race of Oschersleben
It wasn't planned, that Valentin will drive the AvD 100 miles-race at Oschersleben. Mirco Schultis, Valentins teammate of Hockenheim, planed to watch the final of the soccer WC at South Africa. But after Germany lost the semi final he changed his plans and drove to Oschersleben. On Saturday afternoon he called Valentin to ask him, if he wants to drive the AvD 100 miles-race on Sunday. Valentin didn't have to think a lot, packed fastly and drove to Oschersleben, where he arrived at 0:30. The next morning the Qualifying started at 8:50 a.m. and Mirco drove first. Valentin drove the second half of the Qualifying and did very good times from the first lap, even if he didn't drive the free practice on Saturday afternoon. After 5 timed laps Valentin drove with the car #35 a 1:30.0 min. and got out P2 in the class Div. 2 and P3 overall.
Mirco drove the start and defended his position. A light drizzle allowed Mirco to overtake but got overtaken again on dry track. On P1 was Sven Barth with #36 who made a lot of time during the drizzle. When Valentin took over the car at the pitstop the gap was already 78 seconds.
Valentin did his very best but could only catch up 3 seconds per lap, what wasn't enough to win one position. In the end Valentin arrived on 3rd position overall and 2nd position in class Div. 2. The car #36 lost one position and finished 2nd overall and first in class directly before Valentin.
In the end Valentin and Mirco finished the weekend very successfully again and took 2 goblets home. Good job!
